That's clearly a risk with the strategy, but hopefully it's a rare occurance. Even then, a standing stop loss order will probably be filled be filled at a better price than those reacting to the price drop.

I haven't used AIM very much yet so I have no experience with this strategy other than in simulations. I'm very aware that the greatest ideas on paper don't work out in real life for reasons that are hard to anticipate. In general I don't like to use protective stops. It's uncanny how often the price dips just far enough to take out the stop and then goes right back up.
