I may be getting it mixed up with a place on Magazine Street. But I can see their sign vividly in my mind. I took the streetcar in to work every day and about half the time I'd take it back home in the evening, so if I didn't eat there I sure did see it a lot.

We have had a similar conversation when we were talking about Leander Perez and Plaquemines Parish. I was in and out of New Orleans in the mid-late 70s. The year I worked in the Quarter was 78, I believe. I worked at a restaurant supply house on Chartres Street. It was a neat job. The words, "we got a walkover" was music to my ears. If a restaurant or bar ran out of something they had to have, like napkins, I'd have to walk it over there. Some places were good for a draught on the house. Never the strip clubs, though. They were pretty humorless.
