BTW, I won't get into the stuff I've seen inside the mortgage industry. It's almost as bad as the securities industry. I can, if prompted, provide extremely amusing anecdotes...like the guy that walked up to my desk one day with a photocopy of an "Indian Land Grant" for 600 square miles (yes, 600 square miles) of Riverside County in California and said he needed a million dollars in 48 hours...or the "broker" who brought a loan in with himself as the referral but who failed to mention he didn't actually have a license and the one he was showing was forged and he was actually out on bail. Like we wouldn't check these things before actually slicing a check... And it's nice to be on a thread where the people are not trying to pick fights with each other.
