I have never had conch but have always wanted to try it. I grew up spending the time between Biloxi and New Orleans and Baton Rouge, and I love seafood. I miss Louisiana but I'd rather live in Florida because of the water - I like the clear emerald green water of the Gulf on the Panhandle. Never been further South than Grayton Beach, and if there is something more beautiful I can't imagine it.

For some reason, people in Louisiana and coastal Mississippi don't make chowder - at least it's not traditional. We took a trip to Nova Scotia a couple of years ago, and had chowder in Maine and in Canada - mighty good. Shrimp, lobster, and scallops. I had always wanted to try codfish cheeks and tongues, so when I saw it on the menu I ordered it - it was OK but not as good as chowder. Chowdah! -g-
