Itch bein ien Struble Peter!

A really rough attempt to phonetically write the only German phrase I use. Loose meaning is I am Struble Peter. Struble Peter, as I understand it, was a young boy featured in German folklore who had tussled hair. The phase is used to indicate that my hair's a mess.

I was filling my car at one of those self serve petrol stations. A man at the next pump looked over and said "Nice car", to which I said thank-you. (It was a German car.) He then said, "You're welcome, but you didn't build it, did you?" to which I said, with as much a German accent I could fake, "Itch bein ien Struble Peter!", before I jumped in my car and drove off.

I returned to the filling station in a jiffy because I forgot to pay for my gas.

The Commander (German is his first language.) had a good laugh when I got home.

Cheers, PW.
