I know that genealogy is in the Top 5 hobbies/interests category....It was #2 last I knew...Which I think is so great!

I've been researching for over 25 years, and this venue just opens so many more doors, including to those people and actually cousins working on the same lines you are!

When kids are exposed to genealogy a bit, all of a sudden they are interested in some places and dates, and events, as they begin to realize they might have had some past ancestors who were actually in those places they are studying. History then becomes alive, and much easier to remember and think about.

The Internet can, and is, making it easier for people of all colors and ethnic and cultural backgrounds understand each other better. I truly believe more people "get it" than do their government leaders....Power corrupts, as they say. But, as more and more people really see what is happening, maybe things will become better. Looking at history though, it certainly give one pause. One can always hope!

BTW...I have done some research in the Leesburg area, but need to do a good deal more in the mid 1700's to about 1830 or so....I see that area of VA changed county names several times in that time. All I need is about another 24/hr each day and it might allow enough time for all I want and need to accomplish.
