I skidded into the back of a Mercedes once - I was in college, driving a Rambler with bad tires, it was raining, a traffic light turned red, I stomped on the brakes and hydroplaned (not a good driver back then). Totalled the Rambler, smashed the bumper, the lights, the grill, the radiator, and everything got pushed back into the engine. The trunk of the Mercedes popped open. The driver got out, not a scratch on the car, shut the trunk and opened it a couple of times, told me not to worry about it, and drove off.
