Our cat used to prefer to sit on the front porch. I guess there's more activity out front to monitor. He also preferred to use the back garden for another activity, which he began by digging a small hole. He also didn't like walking around the house, so he'd call out to be let in the front door. Once inside, he'd go straight to the back door to be let out again. This would take place between 1:00 and 4:00 AM. We'd just get back to sleep, and he'd be wanting in the back door. Same itinerary, only in reverse. The fact that a cat's lifespan is a fraction of a human's meant that we only experienced his companionship for a couple of decades. Today, I'd be delighted to open doors all night long if I could once again hear claws on tile, purring, the crunch of cat-chow, and quiet meowing at the door. Cheers, WP. P.S. He'd hide behind the dining room door when I'm dusting. The mop made a wonderful victim, and I'd be startled out of my wits. P.P.S. I suppose I could hear the crunch of cat chow again, since The Commander will eat just about anything.
