Guns in school... I know the issue today is quite different from when I was a teen. We had a group of boys in our school who lived in the city and liked to hunt. They'd take their guns to school, and at the end of the day, hitch a ride on a rural school bus to somewhere out of town. When they finished hunting, they'd walk home. Nobody thought this was unusual at all. Sometimes they'd catch a lift home too. I suppose the difference was intent and responsibility. These kids took safety training, possessed licenses, and were doing this with the full knowledge of parents and school authorities. I couldn't begin to imagine the outcry if some students were to try this today. Cheers, PW. P.S. The school I attended also had a rifle range in the cellar. The boys could use it after shool. Girls didn't, but it was probably lack of interest on our part more than any discrimination.
