My doctor likes people to check their pressures at home. He encourages patients to bring their machines to his office so the patient's machine can be calibrated against the doctor's. If home readings fall out of acceptable range, the doctor wants to know, so some action can be taken.

I'm fortunate my doctor encourages patient participation.

P.S. The Commander has learned to fudge his readings to escape those chores he finds unpleasant. I'm working on learning to do the same.
