I have to show up because someone has to hand off the Strewie to a new recipient right? BTW Tom; the rule is that one person is not allowed to 'win' the Strewie in consecutive years right? Gee, I hope so.

Of course you are correct insofar as classic AIM mentioning 100 share lots for commission efficiency. Tom's ease of record keeping makes a good point as well. I was referring to classic AIM calcs of SV-PC-SAFE=ACTION & AMOUNT.

As far as 5% minimum, this too is in terms of value, not # I believe.

All my actual AIM-ing so far has been inside of an IRA, so Cap gains record keeping is moot for me. I also do all my trades as Limit orders @ $15 each up to 5000 shares (and I've not gone beyond that except one expensive time), so lot discounts don't apply either. Like Robert has said, AIM-ing inside an IRA brings certain advantages I believe.

This discussion brings up a question I may have asked before (but forgot): That is does anyone know of any cheap or free CapGains calculation software that is available? I've not scoured the Net yet but figured someone may already have done this.
