One of the nice things about Passats is that you can still get a manual transmission. On the wagon you linked you do have to choose between 4 wheel drive and 5 speed manual - the 4 wheel drive comes with Tiptronic and the manual comes with front wheel drive. I've got all wheel drive on the Rover and the 5 speed manual, which I love. But the expense of upkeep and premium gas are not good things.
