Message 15460220 So - Flarion claims to presently offer mobile data at 384kbs max.. compared to 1xev at 2.4kbs max. "OFDM seems to attract widespread support not because it is a superior technology but because of its nimble evasion of QCOM patents.." Think there won't be royalty issues with OFDM? There are presently 2 warring standards bodies - 1 allied with telecom carriers and one with broadband types. Litigation has already begun between them: ofdm-forum.com and bwif.org Flarion hasn't joined either, which means carriers and vendors of both stripes will try and destroy them if in any way possible...
