She was very concerned about it and gave me the RIOT ACT that morning. But any ways, yes it’s a chore remembering to wear the green sometimes, but I have been managing to luck out lately. I’ll have to remember your response to complainers about the green and drinks. Nothing more on topic to the Irish than those two items, money and drinks, especially when comes their way.
Lol, that poor barmaid was just looking out for Norton with his ruthless friends. I can just picture the barmaid now giving up on the hopeless Americans, hehehe. I notice that it varies around these parts as to paying one round at a time or establishing a tab. The local places know automatically to start the tab for most, but the more urban areas want the green each time. And your right we usually leave the green on the bar for the next one cuz I thought we were a bit lazy not so much for show. If I get lucky and do go there I will check out the west for sure.
In the late 80’s I was repairing phone troubles in So. Boston, known as Southie, it’s the Irish part of Bean town located just south of Logan Airport. One day I got a hard loop trouble at a typical triple decker house. So I knock on the door and these two girls answer with a strong Irish accent, come to find out they had just come over from Ireland, don't recall where tho. I explain the trouble is in the house and will need to look around. The wiring in these older houses can be challenging at times and in this case very difficult to isolate. Mean while the girl’s were playing some games and having a little liquor, now it’s only like 9 o’clock in the morning. I must have been in there for a couple of hours before I found the trouble in a defective jack in some closet. After that I needed a break and joined them for a few. I remember enjoying how nice these girls treated me, being a total stranger really, but they were offering me snacks and drinks and a comfortable chair to sit on, and I really hadn’t done much of anything for them. To make a long story short, I remember smiling and laughing quite a bit the whole time. As I was leaving they go in the refrigerator a grab this bottle filled with money in it and offer to pay me. I found this to be very interesting cause my dad does this with his house money, he keeps it in the frig too. I just laughed and told them it would be no charge, but they couldn’t believe I wouldn’t take any money. They thanked me for like the next ten minutes. To this day, when I see my dad, I always get a little laugh when I see the money bottle.
On topic for a second, my trading log shows my success patterns seem to shift with times of the day, nothing really consistent, but I show a shift from incurring early good trades with not so good late day trades to the opposite now, meaning early trades not so hot and late day trades going well. Should/could I do anything to compensate for this taking place? Or do I just keep working thru it. TIA |
