I am terrible at math but good at putting things together. There's no math involved in taking care of computers, just a lot of cables and a lot of poorly documented software. I am very good at logic, maybe that's what it takes. I understand flow charts. If-this-then-that, drop down to the next if-this-then-that, otherwise go sideways and start another if-this-then-that sequence.

The most important course I ever took, the one I have relied on the most in my life, was symbolic logic. Once I learned how to separate things out in my mind, I could think much more clearly. Many things that are hard to understand become easy if they are broken down into essential components. I call it "teasing apart," it's like untangling a knot in long hair. If you start pulling the threads out a little bit at a time the knot disappears.
