Hi Keith,
FWIW It appears from previous posts about Foliofn that minimum investment that would keep it from being expensive is $100,000. With that in mind, the first question I can think of is what is wrong with American Express.
There is no annual fee.
You can trade 100% of ALL STOCKS
You can trade whenever you like.
There are no such statements as If we change the stocks in a Ready-to-go Folio you own, we'll alert you by email. The only person that can change your portfolio is you.
There is absolutely no charge for the first ten trades every month.
The only thing I see as a plus for Foliofn is dollar based ordering, but that is a very minor advantage IMO.
I find American Express works just fine for me, since I very rarely would have to execute more than 10 trades a month. If I had more than ten trades in a month, surely some of them would be limit orders which have a commission attached to them. I also have the ability to write options such as calls. Is that feature available with Foliofn? Also to be considered is whether or not they have an option for reinvesting dividends. I find that very helpful with income producing stocks such as REITs which have been doing very well for me.
Hope I haven't muddied up the waters too much.<ggg>
