Jonathan:
I've read this thread for 2 1/2 years... it's had some great contributions. But....I don't think it's fair to the reading public to relentlessly post "hack-attack articles" from various publications, and at the same time refuse to acknowledge insider trading, and crashing market fundamentals. Those who choose to post this stuff daily just don't deserve a free pass.
This thread does not move the share price.....objective free discussion is actually OK. This thread didn't take CHKP from 112 to 50 ....the market did, conversely the thread didn't take CHKP from ~$20/sh over 2 years thru 2 splits to it's October high....the market did. You need not be afraid of free discussion.
You said "to simply assume that CHKP could go further down because other NAZ stocks could go down further is overly simplistic" .....well, you may yet get the opportunity to own CHKP at a lower PE again if you really believe this. Market fundamentals have taken CHKP from a high of 112 to today's 50.5 , in spite of the fact that it's a fantastic company. -The market clearly doesn't believe CHKP will be unaffected by the slow-down.
Valuations have changed, all stocks are lining up with new PE's.
Where is the greater fool in this market?? ......could it be the unborn child?
