I heard the "S-car go" joke about 20 years ago. It is a classic...unlike the Datsun. Another Datsun joke:

When a group of Japanese researches invented the automobile that would eventually be called "Datsun," the Head of the department told the Japanese researchers they had until tomorrow to come up with a name for the new brand of automobile. They were surprised by their limited time and said..."Dat sun?" (That soon?)
