This thread is no fun. I thought someone would jump all over this (from his hometown newspaper):

Grid deal session spurs Davis tirade

A frustrated Gov. Gray Davis reportedly lost his temper Tuesday in a closed-door meeting with Senate Republicans, delivering what one lawmaker called a "symphony of obscenities" as he sought to sell them on his plan to purchase Southern California Edison's transmission lines.

The Democratic governor spent the day dropping in on gatherings of Republican and Democratic lawmakers to persuade them that the Edison deal will go a long way toward solving the state's energy crisis.

But when Senate Republicans emerged from their meeting with the governor, they reported that he became angry during questioning, and according to state Sen. Tom McClintock, R-Simi Valley, launched into an obscene tirade.

"He completely lost control of himself at one point in the caucus meeting," McClintock said. "The panic was very clear in his demeanor."
