I never claimed he was a physician. Not being so does not negate his findings. His research started out looking at the correlation of diet on dental health. He expanded it to general health and researched over 20,000 individuals.

And of course I may be wrong but my understanding is he shared a Nobel prize as co-discover of D vitamin being formed from the reaction of ultra violet on the skin.

I don't doubt that being a vegan for while will not hurt you but as a long term program IMO it will.

BTW I agree that you would lose weight. Vegans are always underweight. This is their claim to good health. But of course insurance statistics demonstrate that underweight is as dangerous as overweight.

Scientists often use weight loss as a sign of disease in animal experiments. If your sister has lost more weight that her caloric intake and activity would indicate she should this is not a healthy sign. Vegans tend to digestion problems. Even Kid Rock implied that he had bloating and gas.

You can describe "lunacy" to anything that you disagree with but there is a bottom line to everything. I'm 57 years old 5' 11" 168lbs. My diet is high in animal fat.But I eat only two meals per day and am not atall hungry in between. My cholesterol level is 169, 64 of that being the good guys. There is nobody in my GYM anywhere near my weight that can come close to keeping up with me regardless of age and very few of the "big guys" can keep up with me atall.

When I was young and foolish I experimented with everything from fruitarian to macrobiotics........I lost weight, energy, strength, and became pale and generally sickly. My vegan friends claimed this was the result of a "healing crisis"........This is the lunacy IMO believing that being sick is a good thing in order to avoid giving up one's belief.

Look CB you didn't ask for my advice and it's none of my business what diet you choose. Having said that I must admit because of my personal experience I am always pissed off at the myth of health that vegans promote.Although this is what they would like to believe in no way is it backed up by science.
