Hello,

We do not edit the posts of our members. We do not have the technical means to do so, nor would we if we did have that capability.

The Silicon Investor Support Team

That I received from SI Admin today. Then strangely enough, former SI Admin contradicts this statement stating that there is a "back door" manner of editing that has, after all, been used on at least one occasion in the past to edit a member's posts here at SI:

The site has never given the admins any capability to edit posts, and the only time I'm aware of any of us taking the back route to do so was when someone started a thread trying to sell one of his kidneys and Jill edited a note into the header saying that the account was terminated and that we don't condone such discussion on the site. The site manager and one of the lawyers were at her shoulder as she typed it, as was I.

So, it seems that the e-mail I received today from SI Admin was not wholly accurate? What are we to believe, now exactly? I would be happy to have SI Admin come here and explain to all of us. It seems that SI DOES in fact have the capability to edit member posts. I find this very curious indeed.

Sincerely,

Olivier L. F. Asser
