Dan: Agreed. And the best thing that has happened is the switch of jeffords to independant and the loss of power that gave the Republicans in this area. The committie that oversees the FCC will now look more favorably on NOT allowing a change in the 1996 law. Clark has been in Washington quite a bit here lately and I think he is either there now or has just got back. he has the ear of some powerful people too including the new committie head so it seems the groundwork is laid for a real battle on this issue. MCLD and at least a couple of the others are very close to being able to exist and even compete with the Bells but for now they must be able to have the co locations promised by the 1996 law. To simply change that after luring them inot spending billions would be a terrible breach of faith and one that should not be countenanced by the government. That would be fraud in the business world. Thanks for keeping an eye on it. CRDoug
