Apparently aided by the news on the new patent and the sale of some of its products in India:

ANN ARBOR, Mich., May 31 /PRNewswire/ -- Genomic Solutions Inc. (Nasdaq: GNSL - news), a leading, worldwide supplier of automated solutions for genomic and proteomic research, announces that the US Patent and Trademark Office has awarded the company a significant patent covering the automated hybridization of DNA microarrays. The US Patent 6,238,910, entitled ``Thermal and fluid cycling device for nucleic acid hybridization,'' describes an apparatus for hybridizing a DNA microarray, including the automation of thermal control and reagent introduction. The patent also includes a method for providing agitation of fluid within the cavity to improve the hybridization results.

ANN ARBOR, Mich., June 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Genomic Solutions Inc. (Nasdaq: GNSL - news), a leading, worldwide supplier of automated solutions for genomic and proteomic research, announces that components of its GeneTAC(TM) Biochip System have been purchased by a prestigious research organization in India through Genomic Solutions' distribution partner, PerkinElmer Life Sciences. The Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India will use the GeneTAC G3 Library Management System for arraying, colony picking, gridding and replication in the production of DNA microarrays. A GeneTAC HybStation will be used for hybridization of the microarrays, and a GeneTAC LS IV laser imager will be used to scan them.

The stock is now over its April and May Hs.
