Here's another reason SI shouldn't be messing with fancy CSS features:

Look at that in Classic SI mode using Netscape 4.7x.

You've apparently broken normal page layout so the page isn't wide enough to display the text.

(The web page is wider than normal, so I scroll to the right. However, when I've scrolled all the way, although I can scroll to the right side of the page (the Next link, the edge of the message box), I still can't read all the text because the text goes beyond the width of the page.)

Look, you can't set the width of the page in pixels because you can't possibly know what font size I've set in my browser (how many pixels wide the characters are).
