I read recently an interview of a vice prez from SUNW, he summed up the cause of the bubble as "too many amateur investors and too much information" I would add greedy to that mix...

As I read the posts on various threads, the amount of that Las Vegas, spin the wheel, type of atmosphere seems to be diminishing... Buying stocks strictly for the sake of selling them to the next greater fool built its foundation on quicksand... Investing for fundamental reasons or at least sound technical reasons that encompass more than a five minute time period requires some effort... It's not the easy way, and it may not be the most profitable way during some periods of time, but there is a method to the madness that has worked over long periods of time... Whether it's your Rat Dog approach or some other method that has some thought behind it, there is a history of success that relies on the price cycle... Using a combination of technical and fundamental tools, one can increase the odds of success... Knowing a little bit more about a company than its symbol helps... : >
