Terayon Leaps as Chip Gets Boost By TSC Staff 9/4/01 1:17 PM ET Updated from 8:48 a.m. EDT Terayon (TERN:Nasdaq - news - commentary - research) was up 53% in midafternoon after UBS Warburg said that a new cable modem standard makes the communications chipmaker's OpenPHY chip "potentially the the most attractive cable modem in the chip industry." Warburg upgraded the stock to strong buy from buy, noted that Terayon stands to benefit substantially from a recent decision by the industry group CableLabs to make S-CDMA technology a critical part of its cable modem standard.
