NGW: How would one apply for honorary Mangere residency? Or is it more a state of mind, that I may indeed already have achieved the correct attitude. Certain people think I'd never know I was robbed if they left my TV, computer, 'fridge, and hammock. May I pick your brain for a moment? What I'm wondering about is petroleum, and its impact on the world my grandchildren will inhabit. I'm working from a set of assumptions, not much hard data. So, right now we're consuming oil as a fuel (prodigously), and other sources could be sub- stituted at a higher cost. But there are no viable alternatives for the pharmaceutical and lubrication applications? Am I close, or way off base? What started this line of mangereing is the local Safeway has gone ex- clusively to plastic bags (petroleum product?). Regards, TBG Paul
