In the SI archives, from last year, I started a thread to talk about E*trade(almost all bad). I guess I'm a glutton for punishment, and I just got tired of moving my acount.-g-

E*trade cost me alot of money last year in not letting me short certain stocks(even when they had the shares available) Like prestek, and a couple other dossies! But since I've taken to buying puts on super companies like prestek ect. it's not such an issue. In regard to trade executions I have come to know that E*trade usually executes them on time, and accuratly(sp). The problem sometimes is that it takes awhile for them to get the info to me! What I do now is simply trade as if the trade went through(esp. on market orders). Last week I sold a position in CPQ, and 5 minutes later went short.(both market orders), the second order was not executed because of insuficient funds. I called and they corrected it..... so that's the long answer! I just covered my 120 3/8 short on DELL at 119 5/8. When I get off here I'll see if it was a good move.-g-

Look at Brown and co. .. if I had moved, that's where I was going.
