From that article you just posted:

"''I would say that I was encouraged'' by the fact that Rumsfeld was listening to media concerns, but ''I wouldn't say I was satisfied,'' said Clark Hoyt, Washington editor for Knight Ridder. ''We still aren't everywhere we think we could appropriately be without interfering with operations.'"

Notice the last line? This is the mentality that drives me nuts. The almighty media "thinks" it should be allowed in some places the military deems unsafe or unsecure. Hell, I say let em in. The only problem is that when they come home in a body bad the media will say the government didn't do enough to protect the media. LMAO
I wish just for one second that a reporter would get on TV and say something like this; "you know folks this war is going to be a bitch, it won't be easy, people will die, but we have to do it to protect our way of life. Go out and live your lives like you did before. Go travel, play with your children, shop at malls. Don't let the extremist terrorists rule your lives. We here in the media will report facts, and explain to you that the world will not end because of a few anthrax cases. The world will not end because they murdered our people in New York, Washington DC, and Pennsylvania. We will stop the hype to get your attention and hope you will watch us for our content of fact instead of sensationalism."
Alas I am afraid that will not be reality. ;-)
