JRGEE, one thing to keep in mind is that there is really not much market manipulation in stocks even though it may seem like it. It went up yesterday because there were not many sellers yet there were buyers so it does not take much volume to move the stock up, especially with so much computer buying going on. The only place you may see manipulation is in the BB stock area and definately on the Vancouver exchange. Right now DELL has a bias towards the up side and it will continue through July.

On-balance volume is calculated by adding volume to the previous value when the stock price closes higher than the previous price, and subtracting volume from the value when the stock closes lower than the previous price. So, if stock falls to new low and OBV does not that's positive and vice versa.
