QUESTION: WHY IS FR NEEDED IN AIRPORTS?

Let me ask you this... Why is Facial Rec needed in an airport to identify a passenger?

If every traveler or person entering the country is required to hold and use a national ID card - such as the INSPASS system already in use and proven to work, why would any airport use a facial rec system that has a much higher failure rate?

If any terrorist is in a data base, they'd come up as a terrorist on the INSPASS system and they would not get on a plane...

Right now airlines pay for airport security. No way they will pay for FR as the failure rate is too high, the cost is too high and airlines are on the verge of going belly up. Clearly they won't throw money at such an unproven technology...

If the government takes over airport security, do you seriously think they will deploy facial rec over INSPASS when INSPASS has a HIGHER accuracy rate and a LOWER failure rate?

I'm interested in your logic here... Or for that matter - any long's argument why anyone would choose facial rec over existing technology that's proven more reliable...

here's inspass info:
