ruff,

I'm interested in the pro and con discussion. I still haven't seen real definitive answers to the questions I posed re competition across the board, how easy it is to duplicate the technology and data base.

I'm not so sure you're interested in hearing pros and cons as you seem to ignore the cons. These issues have already been discussed and you fail to grasp them...

As far as competition, there's competition from other FR and there's competition from other ID systems using iris, hand, and fingerprint ID methods. The reality is nobody (not the airlines who presently pay for airport security or the government if the gov takes over airport security), is going to devote big bucks to a system that fails. The DOD studies prove FR fails too often.

Real life tests with the INS, a welfare office and several police departments have proven the failure rate is too high, the cost does not justify the benefit or added manpower.

Consider that, then consider the INSPASS system is already proven to work much better. INSPASS would work like a national ID system. Much more likely a system of that nature gets passed. FR is a gee wiz technology that's too immature to consider deploying now.

Good luck
