MORE OFF TOPIC LAWYER TALK: (Come to think of it, maybe this IS a joke!)

That's true, that you have to take the judgment to the other state to collect it. But I simply hire collection agencies in those states and turn the judgments over to them. All they have to do is file the judgment in the state of residence, and under Full Faith and Credit the courts of that state have to honor it, particularly since it's based on violation of a federal statute. So you don't have to relitigate it; merely file it as a foreign judgment and collect it. I have never had a problem with it being a default judgment as opposed to a contested judgement. Generally the collection agencies take 40-50%, but anything I get is gravy, and it stops the flow of unsolicited faxes from those companies cold!
