Ancient sailors used testicles to navigate

A meteorologist says ancient navigators dragged their testicles in the sea to
find out where they were.

Penehuro Lefale argues seafarers wanted to test the temperature of the
water to see how far away from land they were.

They apparently judged this by checking how much their scrotums tightened.

He told an international conference in Samoa: "If their testicles shrank they
knew they were moving away from land."

(I suspect this works a lot better for the Samoans than it would for the Eskimo navigators)
