Here is an off the wall question. I bought a little organizer with 60 little plastic drawers, to organize all the miscellaneous hardware we've been storing in zip-lock bags and baby-food jars for the last 30 or so years. I'm down to the last couple hundred odd things, and I don't know how to categorize them. How do I decide what's a machine screw vs. what's a wood screw?

And how do I find out the names of things that I don't know the name for? Is there a web site that shows what everything is?

For example, I've got several thingies that you can use to attach a key to a key ring. And I've got several of those round thingies that you use to hold up shelves in book cases that have a series of holes drilled into them so you can adjust the height of the shelves.

What do you call them?

Finally, I have several totally miscellaneous things that I can't figure out what they are for, or why we are keeping them. I asked my husband, and he doesn't remember what they are, or why he saved them. However, I am sure that if I throw them away, then we will discover why we needed them.

BTW, I am very good about throwing out old keys. I don't understand people who keep things they have no use for.
