Oops, Doug, deja vu on me. Do you know what famous poet was killed by a falling tortoise? Well, it was Aeschylus, the father of Greek drama. An oracle foretold his fate, saying that he'd be killed by something falling upon him. He sought sanctuary in open fields, which is where this tragedy occurred. Apparently an eagle flying overhead mistook Aeschylus' bald head for a rock and dropped his prey, the tortoise upon the "rock" to crack it open.
