Hello Selva, I believe the supposed articles by FT are hoaxes, because they come across as too breathless. Also, I subscribe to FT on line and would not have missed these articles.

(a) I trust the system to the extent that I have 6% of my NAV in physical precious metal; after which I do not much care what happens, because if C or JPM or my bank HSBC blows up, I would imagine my physical stuff is then priced up. Also, I do spread my money amongst three large institutions.

(b) I think one still needs to have a basket of currencies, metals being one of the many:

(c) Cut budget, sell off unnecessary second homes, re-balance amongst all assets, emphasizing none, look for active income opportunities, even if one is retired, because the current depression just got started and could be in place for quite some time:
