The only exposure I have had with Ricochet was at a computer show, they were promoting sales. My friend uses Ricochet, and wanted to access it from a distant spot that had little coverage, and therefore wished to use an external antenna (it comes with a small rubber duck antenna), to which they stated that in no way did they want users to use an external (outdoor) antenna because the FCC mandated that NOT to occur. The connector employed is a proprietary one, impossible to find a source for an external antenna lead to plug into. It makes one wonder how much control the FCC actually has, telling OEMs to make things this way or whatever.
