Jim I don't expect we'll ever return to a buy and hold strategy. Not because of the bubble, but because of the information access and participation revolution. Modern communications, computer access to online trading, the vastly lower cost of moving funds into and out of various investments (including cash and mm's).. will decrease the incentives to buy and hold.

Excellent points JG...

While the universe of short term investors will grow, there will still be many people who don't have the time or inclination to trade in minutes, hours, days, or weeks... These people will put their money in growth and index funds... Their money will buy mid cap and large cap stocks to be held for months and years... Let's hope that we've seen the end of the era of cooked books... They don't leave such a nice smell...
