I beg to differ.
Now that we have a couple hundred channels, or some number higher than I can count on my two paws, I have to say that the quality of what is on is hardly least least CD any more. Much of it is dreck for the dim, but much of it is really interesting, some educational, and entertaining. Even the news is available in Far Left, Middle Left, Slightly Left, and Right (Fox) versions.
It is a far cry from the late 70's when I had a choice between Three's Company, The Walton's, The Jefferson's ("We're a movin' on up, to the East Side, to a dee-luxe a-part-ment in the sky"), and William F. Buckley on PBS droning on while his wrist hung from a hinge. |
