You won't be interested in Sex in the City, I don't think. It's supremely vulgar and callow, imo. Give it a try and report back. The Sopranos (that's the name of an Italian, mob-connected family, not some singers') is a great show, mostly because of the brilliant acting of James Gandolfini, though the script is intelligent, and has risen to the level of real art on occasion.
I like Six Feet Under, too. It's not the Sopranos, but it's fun. I think its main draw, unless one is drawn to the macabre, is its main male character, the remarkably sympathetic, lovable-yet-very-attractive actor who plays Nate. He has the sweetest, most expressive face. A little hapless, you want to hug him.
Until some of the reality shows came on, I watched hardly any TV. NYPD Blue, the Sopranos after mr. mark urged me to watch it, Seinfeld before it ended, and King of the Hill. Some magazine shows. I think that's it. SI is TV for me, I guess. I used to look at the news, but after 9/11 I sort of stopped. I'm going to start again. |
