If someone walked up to Mr. Carter and pointed a gun in his face, does he believe the proper response is to (a) have the person arrested or, preventively, shot; or (b) run like hell but continue to allow the person to carry the gun and point it around?

I suppose one could argue that Saddam doesn't have the gun pointed or even loaded (yet), but in light of his past behavior I don't particularly relish the thought of waiting to see if he will shoot.
