If someone walked up to Mr. Carter and pointed a gun in his face, does he believe the proper response is to (a) have the person arrested or, preventively, shot; or (b) run like hell but continue to allow the person to carry the gun and point it around? I suppose one could argue that Saddam doesn't have the gun pointed or even loaded (yet), but in light of his past behavior I don't particularly relish the thought of waiting to see if he will shoot. (Welcome, BP ... there are several decks of cards and some tables in the room downstairs that opens out onto the deck. Feel free to start a game.)
