| A drive out to the Blue Ridge mountains (the Virginia piedmont is lovely). Ride Skyline Drive. Lunch at one of the cabin areas, perhaps take a little walk in the woods. Drive back to the Beltway, head north to Great Falls. Visit the park, where there are falls and rapids on the Potomac, then head over to L'Auberge Chez Francois for Alsatian/French dining. After dinner, go down to the George Washington Parkway for some of the best views of the Washington skyline. Head over to Washington on Interstate 395, which takes you to the Mall. Check that out, then head up Connecticut Avenue, eventually getting to Chevy Chase, some of the most expensive residential real estate in the world. Ride through to see some of the neighborhoods, assuming twilight. Then return home to Bethesda, the second best location in the Maryland suburbs....... |
