All of Rumsfeld's comments are well thought out. Unlike with Bush, political adversaries cannot claim the guy is a dope. After having attended Princeton on an academic scholarship, he served as a Naval aviator in the 1950s, then was elected to congress at the age of 30. By the time he was 37, he was in the Cabinet and at 41 was ambassador to NATO. He's served a wide range of roles, from Director of the Economic Stabilization Program to Chief of Staff for three presidents. He was the youngest Sec of Defense under Ford. In his spare time, he was CEO of two successful Fortune 500 companies. In short, the guy is brilliant and accomplished. He's the kind of guy I trust to execute the war on terrorism.
