Yes, museums are always part of my Perfect NYC Day. Our recent high museum moments have been at the Thomas Eakins show at the Met, and also, there, the exhibition of ancient Chinese bronzes. Maybe the best was the huge medieval tapestry exhibit. For a weird and creepy but fascinating and genuine esthetic experience, if the bizarre Henry Darger show comes to your area, don't miss it. It was at the Folk Art Museum here. And there was a magnificent photography show at the Met. If this exhibition gets to DC, don't miss it, even though many of the photos are familiar:
