I figure you know more about software tools than I'll ever want to learn. To me, Hypernews looks antiquated.

"People don't so much read and reply as post and repost." There are all kinds. I prefer the read/reply mode because I enjoy a good dialog as we're evidently having now.

In the post/repost mode, I personally find nothing attractive about writing (or reading) a posting that says "CPTS $25 by New Years. Go CPTS!!" To really discuss the good and bad points of a stock, you need read/reply.

The features that make SI unique and would give Yahoo an overwhelming advantage if it adopted them are SubjectMarks and all replies to InBox. If people could open their Yahoo message boards to a SubjectMark page, they'd soon forget about SI. Yes, there is a "My Yahoo" page but its implementation for stock messages in clearly inferior.

I'd like SI to survive and prosper, for its active threads are superb. My expectations are that it will not.
