It just seems to me that the media is generally
very careful to refer to people as suspects
or that it is alleged that they committed
a crime before the trial, which is only right
due to both the presumption of innocence and
to avoid defamation.

However, after a conviction, the situation is
different. I don't think they use the term
"alleged" thereafter. Perhaps I am wrong, but
I'm going to pay closer attention.
