Actually, that was not an editorial; it was a column. An editorial is an opinion piece written by one of the editors of a journal (commonly, the chief editor) or by the editorial staff. A column is usually an opinion piece purchased from an outside source and not necessarily reflecting the views of the editor or editorial staff.

Reiner is entitled to his opinion same as everyone else. And so is Krauthammer. In particular his correct impression that most Hollywood types tend to be rather liberal. With one notable exception.

Do you think that a background in Hollywood should preclude public service?
Not a bad idea. Can we get a Constitutuional amendment? :-)
