I will try to make my post clearer, keeping in mind it is only an opinon being forged on the run.

I think that "spiritual" people have an investment in at least two fundamental concepts: 1). that the universe is infused with a fundamental goodness, and 2). that there is a source of guidance. The guidance may take the form of horoscopes, birds, communion with nature on bike, or on foot or whatever. The individual interpretation of "spiritual" obviously covers an incredible range; but I think that fundamental goodness and guidance coupled with wonder is fairly indicative of "spiritual" people in a general sense.

AS to what a person actually means by declaring such a world-view? I suppose that would depend on the stage of relationship one had with them, and the nature of same. I think it is up to us to ferret that out in the individual case...if we consider it important. At the least such a declaration 0f world-view (if sincere and genuine) might be symbolic of the attitude: I mean you no harm, and I seek the good--do so likewise-somewhat like a handshake with flowers on your head! <g>

In summary, it might generally be said that spiritual people seek to acknowledge a "spirit" of goodness and guidance in the universe and to express it through their being--at least I think that may be so.

Then again, it might just make some feel that their odities might be better tolerated under such a rubric. I am sure there are many individual differences...
