I would have objected to delaying the race for Guiliani, yes.
I also would have voted for him if he had run.

We have no idea if he would have won, since that's a hypothetical and I'm not dancing to those with you.

At least you're admitting that there was pressing on the part of the Republicans. I've gotten you to admit that.

And let's remember that neither the Repubs nor the Dems made him withdraw. He withdrew. His decision.

And Laz, I think you know me well enough by now to know that I don't roll in political mud pits. I tend toward being a liberal, but am willing to be thoughtful about each situation as it arises. My opinions evolve and change, which is more than I can say for many people discussing politics on SI.

So statements like this:

Your acts have consequences. It's a good thing to keep in mind.


I consider unnecessarily patronizing and aggressive where I'm concerned. It closes the door to discussion with me, FWIW.
